Holotype QVM 993.5.9 (Holotype lost, formerly QVM HT.938), in cavity in root of eucalypt stump blown out of ground, West Ulverstone, TAS.

Northern, western and southern TAS and Flinders Island (Bass Strait), and more recently from low lying areas along southern VIC coast from Wilsons Promontory (146°26'E) to the Aire River, Otway Ranges (143°28'E), and coastal habitat between Beachport and Robe (ca. 37°11'S, 139°56'E), and Bool Lagoon (37°07'S, 140°42'E), SA; temperate.
