Coastal rivers and marine waters from Shoalhaven River, NSW (34º47´S, 150º42'E) to Hopkins River, VIC (38º20'S, 142º37'E) and widespread in coastal TAS, historical records from as far north as Grose River, NSW (33º35´S, 150º27'E) and west to Ewens Ponds, SA (38º01'S, 140º47´E); temperate.
