Shark Bay (26º08´S) & Scott Reef (14º02´S) WA, Cartier Reef, Timor Sea, to Northwest Solitary Is, NSW (30º01´S), Diamond Islets, Coral Sea, also Lord Howe Island and Elizabeth & Middleton Reefs, records from NT possibly based on another species; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
