Introduction
This species was widely treated as G. patelli prior to McCosker & Randall (1982). We follow Kullander (2016) in accepting the original spelling of rueppelliae, resulting from latinization of the name to Ruppelleus. Böhlke & Smith (2002) argued to accept the name as rueppelliae.
