Introduction

Markle & Olney (1990) regarded Eurypleuron owasianum (Matsubara, 1953) as a senior synonym of E. cinereum (Smith, 1955). Williams & Machida (1992 indicated that the northern and southern populations appeared to differ and suggested that the name E. cinereum be used for the southern population. We follow that work here, but note that the name may change with further studies. Both names are in common usage for the Australian species.
