On continental slope from off Sydney (33°28'S), NSW to Northwest Shelf (18°42'S), WA, although rarely taken along the south and west coasts, also Taupo Seamount, Tasman Sea (33°15'S, 156°12'E), and Lord Howe Island; temperate, discontinuous, (North and south Atlantic, Mediterranean, South Africa and New Zealand).
