Generic Combinations

 

Introduction

This species was incorrectly synonimised with Upeneus bensasi (now U. japonicus) by Day,1875 (see Randall & Kuhlbicki 2006). Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola (1984) record this species as Upeneus sp.1 (not as U. bensasi as stated in Randall & Kuhlbicki 2006), and Sainsbury et al. (1985) record this as Upeneus sp. (see Uiblein & Gledhill, 2014).
