Northwest Shelf, WA (19°12'S, 116°43'E) to north of Darwin (10°05'S, 129°10'E), off Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea (12°37'S), and off Raine Island, QLD (11°35'S) to Wreck Bay, NSW (35°13'S), possibly further south on the west coast; tropical, subtropical.
