Off Flynns Reef, QLD (16°37'S, 146°23'E) to the Great Australian Bight, SW of Fowlers Bay, SA (33°49'S, 130°58'E) and possibly west to WA (127º09´E), also Lord Howe Plateau, Tasman Sea; circumglobal in temperate and warm temperate seas.
