The species was listed as Critically Endangered by the IUCN in 1996 and is listed as Endangered in Australia under the Commonwealth EPBC Act.

Edgbaston Station, north-west of Armanac, central western QLD (22º44´S, 145º25´E); subtropical.

Known only from type locality.

Australian Endemic.
