South of Osprey Reef, (14º34'S) to east of Hinchinbrook Island (18º15'S), QLD and East of Byron Bay (28º21'S), NSW to Cascade Plateau south-east of TAS (43º56´S, 150º26'E), also south of Norfolk Is.; tropical, temperate, west Pacific (Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji).
