Holotype RMNH 7227 (Locality doubted by Dawson, and no further records exist from type location, but regarded as correct by Allen & Smith-Vaniz (1994) who provide clear evidence of their decision - see Introduction to Bleeker (1854, 1858)), Nova-Selma, Cocos Island, Indonesia (now Cocos (Keeling) Islands).Type locality references:
