Holotype AM IA.21 (also paratype of Maxillicosta whitleyi), Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, SA.
Paratype(s) AM E.988, 50 miles south of Cape Wiles, SA, 75 fathoms; AM I.10404, off Flinders Island, SA, 37 fathoms.
