Introduction

Makaira mazara was recently placed into the synonymy of M. nigricans, see Graves and McDowell 2003 and Collette et al 2006. The species was listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN in 2011.

New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania, Western Australia


Extra Distribution Information

South-western WA to eastern TAS and off Christmas Island, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island; tropical, subtropical, occasionally entering temperate waters, circumglobal.
