Introduction

Lethrinus punctulatus Macleay, 1878 is sometimes treated as a valid species (e.g., Moore et al. 2020), however we follow Allen et al. (2021) in treating L. punctulatus as a synonym of L. lentjan until further work is conducted to establish its identity.
