Diagnosis
Carapace subtriangular or reniform, sometimes ornamented. Zone of concrescence narrow, marginal pore canals not branched. Antennula 5-segmented: first segment representing fused coxa and basis, second and third as well as fourth and fifth segments fused, first and sixth segment free. Exopod reduced on Ex1 and Ex2 setae. Exopod of antenna consisting of plate and 3 or 2 short setae. Male antenna without sexual bristles, claws G1 and G3 reduced, z1 and z2 setae transformed into long claws. Mandibular vibratory plate with several long rays, palp 4-segmented, 3+2 setae on second segment, and central claw on terminal segment fused with segment. Terminal segment of maxillular palp prominent. Prehensile palps with stout bodies and short hook-like fingers. Basal segment of second thoracopod without any seta, endopod 4/5-segmented. Third thoracopod with usually with all 3 basal setae present, appendage 4/5-segmented, Te seta absent, terminal segment with 2 short and 1 long seta. Caudal ramus very short and stout, posterior claw only rarely reduced. Posterior seta present. Lobe b rounded without dorsal chitinised projection, lobe h present, part g well inside hemipenis body, and no internal coils. Zenker's organ with 4+2 rows of spines. Female often with appendage developed on genital field.
