Miscellaneous Literature Names
Introduction
Previously the species was considered separate from Hymenocephalus longiceps from Japan, the Philippines, South China Sea and Indonesia with Australian records considered misidentification of H. longibarbis. Schwarzhans (2014) regarded the two as identical.
