Introduction
Workers in Australia usually use the name Hoplostethus intermedius for the Australian and New Zealand species, but workers in New Zealand treat the species as a junior synonym of Hoplostethus mediterraneus (see Gomon 2008 and Roberts & Gomon 2015).
