Miscellaneous Literature Names

Introduction

The species was separated from Craterocephalus eyresii by Crowley & Ivantsoff (1990) based on having fixed gene differences at two loci,. However, subsequent studies (Adams et al. 2011) failed to find genetic differences between the species. Tentatively we retain the species. The species was listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN in 1996.
