Note

This large genus is very confused, due to the past irregularities of the work of Carter and Obenberger which cast doubt over the currently listed synonymy. It is expected that many new synonymies and new species await publication. Two recent works by Barker (2001, 2002) begin the process towards a modern concept of the genus and its species.
