Introduction

This genus has been incorrectly spelled Caelorinchus by many authors following Eschmeyer (1990) and Sazonov and Iwamoto (1992), however the previous spelling Coelorinchus is now considered to be the correct one (see Iwamoto & Graham 2008).

New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia

Off Jervis Bay, NSW (34°53'S, 151°16'E) to south-east of Shoal Cape, WA (34°36'S, 121°19´E) including Tasmania, also Lord Howe Plateau and Norfolk Ridge, Tasman Sea, and Macquarie Island (54°47'S, 158°45'E); temperate, south-west Pacific (New Zealand).
