Introduction
This genus has been incorrectly spelled Caelorinchus by many authors following Eschmeyer (1990) and Sazonov and Iwamoto (1992), however the previous spelling Coelorinchus is now considered to be the correct one (see Iwamoto & Graham 2008). The recently described C. posteromaculatus Nakayama, Prokofiev & Kawai 2020 is described partly from specimens collected to the south of Lombok, Indonesia and may also occur in northern Australian waters.
