Holotype CSIRO H2548-13 (depth 290 m), north-west of North West Cape, WA.

Generic Combinations
- Coelorinchus gaesorhynchus Iwamoto & Williams, 1999 [correction to spelling of generic name].
Introduction
This genus has been incorrectly spelled Caelorinchus by many authors following Eschmeyer (1990) and Sazonov and Iwamoto (1992), however the previous spelling Coelorinchus is now considered to be the correct one (see Iwamoto & Graham 2008).
