Introduction

This pale yellowish species is distinctively marked on the head and pronotum with small black dots. It is only known from a single male from the Northern Territory. It fits into Viraktamath's (1998) pruthii species group which is characterised by the absence of a sclerite between the base of the aedeagus and the connective and the lack of an extended preatrium bearing a long process.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Face pale cream. Vertex cream with six black spots: two near hind margin, two on front margin inside ocelli and two on front margin against eyes. Pronotum cream with transverse line of three small brown spots on each side behind eye; scutellum cream. Tegmina pale testaceous, translucent with brown infuscation at apex of each claval vein and apex of clavus (Fletcher & Semeraro 2007).
Fletcher & Semeraro (2007) described and figured the male genitalia.
