Tribe Drabescini Ishihara, 1953

Compiler and date details

29 June 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

The Drabescini were reviewed by Zhang and Webb (1996). They treated the group as a tribe of the Selenocephalinae but Zahniser and Dietrich (2010) moved the group to be a tribe of the Deltocephalinae with two subtribes, the Drabescina and the Paraboloponina. The Drabescina is primarily Asian with one species recorded on Christmas Island and another found along coastal Queensland. The Subtribe Paraboloponina is well represented in the Asian and Pacific regions with three genera in Australia, Carvaka Distant with five species (reviewed by Fletcher & Semeraro (2007)), Dryadomorpha Kirkaldy with two species and the monotypic Nirvanguina Evans found in Papua New Guinea and North Queensland.
