Holotype ANIC MEI130279 adult ♂ (600m, 15-21.I.1988, malaise trap, M.E. Irwin), ACT: Black Mountain [35.16°S, 149.06°E].
Paratype(s) large number of ♂ & ♀ (held in many institutions including AM, ANIC, BMNH, FSCA, GDCB, UIMNH - the Mike Irwin collection, QDPI, UQIC, USNM & ZMUC), many localities in QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS.

Diagnosis
Medium-sized species. Prosternal furrow and sternopleuron without pile. Fore femur with several pd macrosetae; hind femur with several av macrosetae. Middle and hind femora yellow-brown except for extreme base. Mesonotum grey-brown, indistinctly striped. Frons moderately raised in profile, with rather sparse pile. Frons about 3x width of anterior ocellus in front of this. Haltere yellow-brown.
