Genera of Therevinae
The Anabarhynchus genus-group, containing the genera Anabarhynchus, Irwiniella Lyneborg and Megathereva Lyneborg, clearly belong to the cosmopolitan Therevinae and possess characters such as two spermathecae, multiple vestiture types on the femora, parameral sheath separate from gonocoxal apodeme, female acanthophorites present and sclerotised bridge between female abdominal tergites 8 and 9 + 10 (Winterton et al. 1999b). Irwiniella (Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Asia, Africa) and Megathereva (New Zealand) are not found in Australia.
