Diagnosis
The presence of a comb of about 25 anterodorsal macrosetae to hind tibia and absence of pd's on the same tibia separates this species from all other Australian species of Anabarhynchus except A. hyalipennis. A. decipiens is at once recognized by its narrow, entirely tomentose frons in both sexes, and the presence of a sparse pile on posterior surface of middle coxa. The male terminalia are very distinctive.
