Neotype ANIC MEI130241 adult ♂ (21.ix.1919, G.H. Hardy), NSW: Sydney [33.865°S, 151.208°E]
Comment: Kröber (1912:219) described this species on the basis of a female from "Australien". The type was destroyed in Hamburg during World War 2. The Sydney male specimen selected as neotype by Lyneborg (2001) was identified by J. Mann in 1928 as A. abdominalis, and agrees closely with the description.

Diagnosis
Medium-sized species. Prosternal furrow and sternopleuron without pile. Fore femur with 2 or 3 pd and a few weak pv's; av's absent. Middle femur with 1 pd and several pv macrosetae. Ventral pile of hind femur very short. Legs entirely yellowish. Abdomen blackish, with characteristic re-brown margin from segment 2 onwards.
