Diagnosis

Carapace rectangular, sometimes ornamented. Zone of concrescence wide, marginal pore canals long, not branched. Antennula 4-segmented: first segment representing fused coxa, basis, and first endopodal segment — forming alobasis, second and third as well as fourth and fifth segments fused, sixth segment free. Exopod reduced on Ex1 and Ex2 setae. Exopod on antenna consisting of plate and 3 or 2 short setae. Male antenna with sexual bristles, claws G1 and G3 reduced, z1 seta transformed into long claw. Mandibular vibratory plate with several long rays, palp 4-segmented, 3+2 setae on second segment, and central claw on terminal segment fused with segment. Terminal segment of maxillular palp prominent: 2 times longer than wider. Prehensile palps modest and symmetrical. Basal segment of second thoracopod with 1 seta, endopod 4/5-segmented. Third thoracopod with all 3 basal setae present, appendage 5-segmented, Te seta absent, terminal segment with 2 short and 1 long seta. Caudal ramus with posterior seta, posterior claw reduced. Lobe b rounded without dorsal chitinised projection, lobe h present, part g well inside hemipenis body, and no internal coils. Zenker's organ with 5+2 rows of spines.
