Comment: description indicates that only one specimen included, see Hardy (1982) regarding type, but two numbers now listed as types. - Tetrodon fasciatus Macleay, W.J. 1878. The fishes of Port Darwin. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 1 2(4): 344-367 pls 7-10 [365, pl. 10(5)] [junior homonym of Tetrodon fasciatus Bloch & Schneider, 1801, and Tetrodon fasciatus McClelland, 1843].
