Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, herbivore (associated flora: Gahnia sieberiana Kunth [CYPERACEAE] Sword Grass (on foliage); Acacia longifolia (Andrews) Willd. [FABACEAE] Sydney Golden Wattle; Leptospermum sp. [MYRTACEAE] Tea-tree), volant.

Larva: wood-borer (associated flora: Gahnia spp. [CYPERACEAE]).

Extra Ecological Information

Bellamy (1987) recorded larvae of this species using Gahnia spp., including G. sieberana, and one adult from the flowers of Leptospermum sp.; in addition, a possible parasite of this species was recorded as Aulacostethus rubidus (Schletter) (Hymenoptera: Aulacidae).
