Introduction
The genus Insidiator was established by Jordan and Snyder (1900) however Whitley (1930) described the genus Suggrundus as a replacement name for Insidiator because he believed the latter to be preoccupied by Insidiator Oken 1842. However, Imamura & Hoese (2020) presented evidence to show that Insidiator Oken 1842 is unavailable, and restored Insidiator Jordan and Snyder with Suggrundus becoming an unnecessary replacement name. See Imamura & Hoese (2020) for further details.
