Syntype(s) ZMH 6081 ♀ ('co-type' in IM), 'la mer des Indes' [this vague type locality is evidently erroneous; S. inflata is a distinctive species that has subsequently only been found along the eastern coast of Australia, Davie (2002: 347)].

Extra Distribution Information
According to Türkay & Davie (in prep.) Scopimera inflata should be restricted to eastern Australia, Western Australian material represents an undescribed species, and Northern Territory records belong to S. kochi Roux, 1917.
