Genus Ranzania Nardo, 1840

Introduction

Whitley (1937) regarded Triurus Lacépède, 1800 as a senior synonym of Ranzania and provided a copy of a supporting letter from E.W. Gudger from the American Museum of Natural History. Jordan (1917) placed in Alepocephalidae or Clupeidae. Current workers regard Triurus as unidentifiable and retain the name Ranzania.
