Species Poromitra atlantica (Norman, 1929)

Crested Bigscale, Southern Bigscale

Introduction

Until recently, Poromitra atlantica had been called P. crassiceps in Australia. Kotlyar (2008) noted that P. crassiceps was confined to the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Kotlyar (2009) noted that the correct name for this species in Australia is P. atlantica. However, Robertson et al (2017) considered that P. crassiceps occurred in the Eastern Pacific.
