Introduction

This species has frequently been misidentified as Rogadius asper (Cuvier 1829), a species which Imamura (2019) has shown is not recorded from Australia and appears to be restricted to the north-western Pacific (south to Nha Trang, Vietnam)

Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia

North of Rosemary Island, Dampier Archipelago, WA (20°22´S, 116°36'E) to east of Heron Island QLD (23°27, 151°43'E); tropical, west Pacific.
