Introduction
This species was placed in the genus Arotrolepis by Hutchins (2001). Hutchins (2008) indicated that a second species of Arotrolepis occurred in Australia. However, Hutchins (2001) placed the type species of Arotrolepis in the genus Paramonacanthus. Consequently we retain the species here following Hutchins (1977).
