   Holotype AM E.2932, 14 miles southeast off Cape Capricorn, QLD, 13 fathoms.

  Type data:

   Holotype AM IA.4236, between Broome and Cape Bossutt, WA.

Introduction

It has been suggested that this species may be a synonym of Paracentropogon longispinis (see Larson et al 2013, based on information from J. Johnson). Tentatively we retain the species pending publication.
