Type data:
Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: vii.1971, J. Disney, in moss), summit of Mt Gower, Lord Howe Island.
Introduction
This species is one of two species of the genus recorded from Lord Howe Island. In contrast to N. howensis Donaldson, this species has only been found associated with moss at the top of Mt Gower, a habitat and locality it shares with three species of Howeria (Hemiptera: Peloridiidae).

Diagnosis
Vertex with ratio of total length in midline to length anterior to eyes < 1.8, in lateral view extending anterior to eyes usually for ca twice length of an eye; marginal carinae not visible in dorsal view. (Donaldson 1988)
