Type species:
Notuchus risioides Fennah, 1969 by original designation.
Introduction
A genus of cryptic, strongly brachypterous planthoppers found in moss or berlesate samples in rainforest, sometimes in mountainous areas. Fennah (1969) compared them to the South African brachypterous dictyopharid genus Risius and even the moss bugs, family Peloridiidae, which are found in moss beds at the tops of mountains.

Diagnosis
This genus is most clearly distinguished from other asiracine genera by the brachypterous tegmina, the sublateral carinae of the frons, the horizontally extending lateral lobes of the pronotum and the presence of an impression in each lateral lobe and in each compartment of the median disc of the pronotum.
