Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, herbivore (associated flora: Corymbia tessellaris (F.Muell.) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson [MYRTACEAE] Carbeen, Manna Gum, Moreton Bay Ash (on leaves); Taraxacum officinale F.H.Wigg. [ASTERACEAE] Dandelion (on seedlings); Eucalyptus spp. [MYRTACEAE] Gum Trees (on foliage); Crataegus monogyna Jacq. [ROSACEAE] Hawthorn (fruiting); Leptospermum scoparium J.R.Forst. & G.Forst. [MYRTACEAE] Manuka (on foliage)), volant.

Larva: wood-borer (associated flora: Eucalyptus globulus Labill. [MYRTACEAE] Blue Gum; Eucalyptus tindaliae Blakely [MYRTACEAE] Ramornie Stringybark).

Extra Ecological Information

Hawkeswood (1986) recorded this adults of this species feeding on leaves of Eucalyptus viminalis and bred from E. phaeotricha. Later, he (Hawkeswood 1993) listed adults on flowers of Taraxacum officinale (Asteraceae), leaves of E. viminalis and on fruiting Crataegus monogyna (Rosaceae); Cowie (2001) recorded this species from E. viminalis..
