Subtribe Nascionina Holynski, 1988

Introduction

The Nascionina Holynski (1988) contains two genera: Nascio Laporte & Gory and Nascioides Kerremans. Nascio is an Australian endemic and has never been revised; a key to the species was presented by Carter (1912).

Nascioides was recently revised by Williams (1987). A single described species, N. enysi (Sharp), is known from New Zealand; the remaining described species are from Australia. One undescribed species from New Caledonia exists.

The Chilean genus, Pterobothris Fairmaire & Germain, is also placed in this subtribe. The relationships of Nascionina are thought to be with the Trachykelina (Holynski 1988) of North America and China and the Mendizabaliina Cobos (1957) of Chile.
