Introduction

The species is listed as Endangered in New South Wales under the Fisheries Management Act 1994. Unmack et al. (2011) have suggested that the species is probably a composite of two distinct species (see also Kuiter 2013).

Extra Distribution Information

Occurs throughout the Murray-Murrumbidgee River system — Brinagagee, NSW (34º27´S, 145º42´E) to Ewens Ponds, SA (38º01´S, 140º49´E), also occurs in TAS in rivers draining north and on King and Flinders islands; temperate.
