Holotype AM IB.7906, Grose River, immediately below and north of Blackheath, Blue Mountains, NSW [-33.63 S, 150.28 E].
Paratype(s) NMV A31793-2, Bowens Creek, upstream of Mount Irvine/Bilpin Road, Blue Mountains, NSW [-33.50 S, 150.47 E]; NMV A21325, pool just below the Jack Evans walking track crossing at Erskine Creek, approx. 4 km north-west of Warragamba, NSW [-33.84 S, 150.58 E].
Introduction
Previously referred to as M. australasica but specimens from easterly flowing Hawkesbury-Nepean river system long thought to be a different species by various authors (e.g., Harris & Rowland, 1996; Allen et al. 2002), and formally named by Hoser (2020).
