  Type species:

   Macquaria australasica Cuvier, 1830 by monotypy.

 

Introduction

Based on molecular studies, Near et al. (2012) separated Macquaria colonorum and M.novemaculeata. Pending further confirmation, the species are retained in the genus Macquaria.
