Introduction
Motomura, Last & Johnson (2008) reviewed Liocranium and seperated Liocranium praepositum into two species, reinstating Liocarnium pleurostigma as the species from the Torres Strait (QLD) to Exmouth Gulf (WA) and leaving L. praepositum as the east QLD coast species.

Extra Distribution Information
Following Motomura et al.'s 2008 revision of Liocranium, L. pleurostigma is considered to range from the Torres Strait (QLD) west to Exmouth Gulf (WA) while L. praepositum is restricted to the east coast of QLD; west Pacific (Indonesia and Philippines)
