Port Stephens, NSW (32°42'S) to Victor Harbour, SA (138°38'E) and throughout TAS; temperate, south-west Pacific (New Zealand); Latridopsis ciliaris sometimes placed here and easily mistaken for this species (see Smith et al. 2001)
