Introduction

This species has been recorded from the eastern parts of the continent from SE Queensland to Tasmania as well as from King George Sound and Albany in southern Western Australia. Whether all these records are true I. angustata needs to be confirmed through examination of the male genitalia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: xylem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head facially pale yellowish brown with a central dark brown stripe on the frontoclypeus and with a series of narrow transverse brown stripes laterally. Crown of head and pronotum pale yellowish brown with dark brown markings. Scutellum marked with a pattern of dark brown and yellowish brown. Tegmen hyaline brown or dark greenish black, the costal border narrowly white; venation indistinct. Thorax and abdomen ventral surface ochraceous. Length 8 mm (Evans 1938).
