Introduction

This genus, as defined by Young (1986) contains eight species all endemic to Australia. Some of the species are common in gardens on exotic plants and are immediately recognisable because of their narrow shape and distinctive colouring. The markings of the head aid in differentiation of the species but male genitalia provide more reliable identification features.

Diagnosis

Young (1986) provides a comprehensive description of the genus. The species are, however, distinctively coloured and easily recognised with the body pale yellow to orange with various black spots and markings on the head and pronotum. The tegmina are black with blue-green metallic sheen except for the costal margin which is broadly pale.
